HOW IT WORKS
Our Approach to Sentinel Transit Barriers
The Sentinel Transit Barrier system is specifically designed to prevent accidental falls and guide visually impaired passengers at transit platforms. Installed between rail cars, these barriers create a clear, physical boundary that helps passengers safely navigate busy transit environments.
The Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) require transit agencies to take steps to ensure the visually impaired patrons do not fall from the elevated platform to the trackway below in the space between the train’s coupled vehicles.
Sentinel is the only platform-mounted between-car barrier system that meets the provisions placed by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
